Tomas de Vargas Machuca, Chairman of HERO-ERA, current solo Peking to Paris journey shows the uprated rear springs, Chassis strengthening plates and strut gear similar to a 4.5-Litre Bentley that we installed have been put to the test this week. As Tomas goes through the Wanjiawan Danxia landform then high above the dried up Sangan Riverbed. Much of the first 3 weeks takes competitors in and out of the southern reaches of the Gobi desert.

Road surfaces have been varied with some showing development from the dusty tracks driven last year. However I’m sure the old adage, 'to finish first, first you must finish’ is ringing in Tomas’ ears, as he takes on roads that appear more akin to the P2P that most are familiar with.
Crews embarked on a punishing 688km trek today, journeying from the Tengger Desert Camp to Jiayuguan after a stormy night that left tents battered and spirits almost exhaustion. Despite these tough conditions, the route revealed moments of otherworldly beauty, as teams traversed intense terrain under the watchful eyes of wandering Bactrian camels.
The stage wrapped up with teams reaching Jiayuguan, bringing to a close one of the most gruelling legs of the rally to date.
Don't forget to subscribe to keep up-to-date on Tomas' progress.
